Debbie in Waxhaw
[Updated November, 2006] In 1997 Debbie was diagnosed with cancer. We made the decision to stay in North Carolina in our house in Waxhaw for her treatments, which included agressive chemotherapy and radiation and hormone treatments. This, of course, meant that we could no longer serve in Mexico, and it was very difficult to leave that place where our heart still remains today. Debbie taught our children school at home and finally graduated the youngest, Noelle, in 2002. I was able to fill some very needed roles at the JAARS Center in IT Administration from 1998-2004. We moved back to E. Tennessee in July of 2005, where Debbie helps in the care of her mother. She has had opportunities to teach while in Tennessee and is now preparing to begin studies towards a degree in Biblical Studies on line at Southern Evangelical Seminary in Charlotte, NC.

Precepts
In 1998 Debbie was contacted by a small group of ladies who were working at the JAARS center and wanted someone to teach them a Precepts Bible Study. Debbie was recovering from cancer treatment at the time, but said that she could probably do it if the ladies were to come to our house. That has grown over the years to include as many as 30 ladies that meet in a classroom in the aviation building at JAARS. Some even drive all the way from Charlotte to be a part of this class. They have studied Daniel, Ruth, Hebrews, Revelation and others as well. Debbie loves teaching the Word and is very gifted. Some of the comments from her students indicate real acknowledgement that God has greatly gifted her for this role.

Her Children
Debbie's real heart, next to her love of the Lord, is for her kids. Here she is with Brian, our first born, in New York during a visit in 2002.
