Prayer Requests

160

Updated February, 2009

It’s been a while since I updated this prayer page… believe me,  it hasn’t been because we haven’t needed your prayers…

The last prayer requests we put on this site asked for your prayers concerning Noelle’s upcoming wedding at Ocean Isle Beach, NC… it was a great success! Thanks for your prayers, and please continue praying for Noelle and Brian Patterson as they adjust to being married. Pray especially for Noelle as she continues her studies to be a Para Legal as well as her current internship in the EEOC office in Uptown Charlotte.

Pray for Nathan and Krista; that they will continue to grow in their young marriage. Pray especially for Nathan as he continues following his lifelong dream of studying jazz guitar at the Atlanta Institute of Music. He also has contracted to teach guitar at a nearby studio and currently has 3 students.  He has hopes of continuing his studies to earn a BA in Music at Kennesaw State University.

Pray for Brian as he continues his work as a Project Manager/ IT Architect for IBM, that he would be successful and productive. Pray for him as he completes his Masters degrees at NYU in the next couple of months.

Please continue praying for Debbie’s mom as she struggles with her health issues. She has been able to stay in her home for the most part, but has had some stints in the hospital over that past few months. Pray also for her dad, who has also had some health concerns recently. Pray for Debbie as she helps in the care of her parents, taking them to the doctors and hospitals, managing their medications, participating in the decision making… that God will give her wisdom and strengthen and enable her to  persevere in this ministry.

Pray for Debbie as she teaches a ladies group, co-teaches a SS class with her husband, disciples a younger lady, studies her courses at Southern Evangelical Seminary, cares for her parents and all this while dealing with her own fibromyalgia.

Pray for me (Phil) in my work as an Applicant Personnel Administrator. I have recently brought 4 couples into membership with Wycliffe; an aviation mechanic, a security specialist, an aviation machinist, and a videographer. I am also working with 12 other applicants (yikes! Praise God for bringing workers into the harvest, but my workload is huge!) These will include Bible translators, Construction and Maintenance people and IT Specialists. Also, in my role as a Prefield Personnel Administrator I have recently released several new members to depart to their assignments. This includes a family with 3 children heading to Cameroon, via France for French study, where they will be Bible translators. Also a single father of one who headed to Philippines where he will manage a small Translation center in Nasuli.  Then there is the single guy assigned to recruit new members in the Southeast of the US and another recruiter, who is fulfilling that role while his wife interns as a counselor before they head off to Cameroon.  There is the single guy now at JAARS working in the Purchasing & Shipping Dept. Also the family with two small children who are now in Dallas where he serves as a computational linguist and the family with 3 older children who went to Orlando where he will serve as a Business Analyst. I have a few others who are almost ready to leave for their assignment, but need just a few more partners… will you pray for them as they strive to build a partnership team in this economic environment… God is in control!

Also, pray for me as I contemplate my upcoming total knee replacement surgery, scheduled to take place in July. O boy, how I hate getting old!!!

Thanks so much for your faithful prayers!
